Partnership puts Energy into pic plan

Management company Energy Entertainment has released Energy Independent, by having an eye toward developing, financing and creating 2 to 4 features each year. Energy Independent is really a partnership between Energy owner Brooklyn Weaver and SkyRock Venture, a financing and distribution company. Skyrock was founded by Paul Rock and Sameera Eligeti, who lead a consortium of high internet worth traders. Venture requires a "quality" over quantity" approach, with clients becoming creating partners. First of all is "Picture Book," a supernatural thriller compiled by Ben Magid ("13") with Alexis Wajsbrot & Damien Mace ("Red-colored Balloon") mounted on direct. Weaver is creating, with Rock and Eligeti professional creating alongside Magid. "Picture Book" focuses on the mysterious occurrences within the mansion of the famous children's author. The storyline is similar to 2001's "Others,Inch having a supernatural twist. Energy Independent can also be settling several filmmaker deals, with two likely to be consummated within the next thirty days. Deal was brokered through the Paradigm Movie Finance Group. Energy is creating found-footage project "13," which Universal bought pre-emptively recently and hang track of U-based Strike Entertainment. WME and also teamed last month's spec purchase of scribe Kaira Ingelsby's actioner "Run Through The Night" to Warner Bros. inside a pre-emptive deal. Contact Dork McNary at dork.mcnary@variety.com
